Design History in a nutshell
July 8, 2010 § 1 Comment
Design History.com is a great site I discovered a couple weeks ago. The site, developed as a senior thesis by a design student, is the perfect resource for budding designers. You can find a design history that begins with the earliest cave drawings and takes you through to contemporary designers (like some of my favorites Ellen Lupton, Marian Bantjes and so on).
Not only is does the site have great coverage of the history of design, but you can also learn about different categories of design. Peruse definitions and examples of posters, infographics, typography; the list goes on! Make sure you revisit the homepage once you have browsed to your heart’s content. The author lists several other have-to-read design resources.
